Abstract

This article explores the paradigm shift from passive generative AI to Agentic AI, where autonomous systems bypass traditional graphical user interfaces (GUIs) to execute complex, multi-step operations directly on high-performance blockchains. Legacy internet architectures and older blockchain networks with slow block times create bottlenecks that hinder AI agents from operating at machine speeds. Consequently, networks like Solana and Sui have emerged as foundational execution layers. Solana facilitates high-frequency AI agent activity through sub-400ms block times and negligible fees, while Sui provides a highly programmable, secure environment via its object-centric architecture and the Move programming language. This transition is fostering intent-centric execution models and autonomous agent-to-agent economies, though it introduces significant security risks that necessitate safer programming frameworks. Finally, the article contextualizes this shift within Pakistan's tech ecosystem following the adoption of the National Artificial Intelligence Policy 2025, urging a pivot in technical education toward systems-level languages like Rust and Move to remain competitive in the global IT export market.
