About the Journal

Journal Overview

The Pakistan Journal of Bioinformatics (PJB) is a peer-reviewed, open-access international journal dedicated to the advancement of computational biology and bioinformatics. Based in Pakistan, the journal serves as a premier forum for researchers, academicians, and practitioners to publish high-quality original research, reviews, and case studies that integrate biological data with computational algorithms.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to bridge the gap between biological sciences and computational technologies. We aim to foster scientific innovation within Pakistan and beyond by providing a platform for the dissemination of knowledge that addresses complex biological problems through data-driven approaches.

Scope of the Journal

PJB welcomes submissions across a broad spectrum of bioinformatics and computational biology, including but not limited to:

  • Genomics & Proteomics: Sequence analysis, comparative genomics, and structural bioinformatics.

  • System Biology: Network analysis, metabolic modeling, and biological pathway simulations.

  • Drug Discovery: Computer-aided drug design (CADD), molecular docking, and pharmacogenomics.

  • Artificial Intelligence in Biology: Machine learning, deep learning, and big data analytics in healthcare.

  • Agricultural Bioinformatics: Crop improvement, plant genomics, and livestock breeding informatics.

  • Biostatistics: Development of novel statistical methods for biological data interpretation.

Why Publish With Us?

  • Global Visibility: As an open-access journal, your research is available to a worldwide audience immediately upon publication.

  • Rigorous Peer Review: We maintain high academic standards through a double-blind peer-review process.

  • Interdisciplinary Focus: We encourage collaboration between biologists, computer scientists, mathematicians, and clinicians.

  • Rapid Publication: We strive for a streamlined submission-to-publication timeline without compromising quality.
