Abstract
Artificial intelligence is now pervading society in the form of facial recognition, personal assistants and other technologies that gather significant amounts of data about their users, often without their explicit consent. This article explore issues of data privacy in relation to the use of AI systems and the collection, storage and use of personal information. It also discusses threats arising from using AI to analyse data, such as misuse and lack of user oversight. Furthermore, it discusses the role of good data management practices like privacy controls and user education. Despite these risks, improving privacy in a smart future requires finding a balance between technological development and data protection and user empowerment.
