Abstract

Globally the threat of cybersecurity is increasing amid the rapid transformation of digital and artificial intelligence tools, which creates a major concern for organizations. Therefore, through continuous supervision of network activities, cybersecurity monitoring tools provide ways to identify potential threats and prompt responses to security threats, while protecting information systems. In this article, the major monitoring tools, including Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS), and Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), exhibit functions and practical applications. Additionally, it discusses various issues, including high implementation costs, system complexity, and false positives. However, its significance is not just limited to these issues, it can also detect the significance of real-time monitoring, automated threat detection, and data-driven analysis for improving organizational security. The particular focus of the study is on Pakistan, it identifies gaps between awareness, adoption, technical expertise, and the requirement for scalable, cost-effective, and integrated cybersecurity solutions. The outcome is to enhance threat detection and response capabilities in emerging digital environments in Pakistan's e-governance to mitigate threats.
