Abstract

This article explores the integration of AI and digital technologies in Pakistan's agricultural sector. Pakistan grows enough food to feed 230 million people but looses a third of it before it reaches to anyone's plate and bunch of underfunded startups with AI tools are trying to fix that. Agriculture is the backbone of Pakistan's economy and 23% of GDP comes from it. Pakistan's 40% labour force works in farming. Unfortunately this sector is in serious trouble. According to World Bank figures 2022 super-floods alone destroyed crops of $3.7 billion worth. Water level in Pakistan's is decreasing and seasons are breaking patterns. So the traditional agriculture is not suitable to fulfil the demand of increasing population. There is need to adopt AI and modern technologies in Pakistan's Agricultural sector.
